CASE STUDY

Can you give us a brief description of yourself and your background?

After a nomadic career of sales and  promotions. I discovered a natural talent for oil painting. I was going through a tough time mentally in this moment and the art not only saved me from depression but also lit a fire in me to help others discover means of holistic activities to help them selves.

I now own my titles of artist, philanthropist and seed planter.

Can you tell us briefly about the status of your art practice when you started working with Pure/Lesley

I was juggling a 9-5 job with painting and creating YouTube content to promote art and mental health.

How did you first hear about Pure and Lesley?

Auntie Lesley reached out to me via Facebook. I believe someone had seen my content recommend that she get in touch.

What challenges/problems/situation necessitated you seeking help?

I wasn’t actually seeking help however Lesley got me through some important hurdles at the start of me taking on the wellness space and the journey to becoming an ambassador of mental health. She helped me reframe bad situations such as negativity and trolling online.

What were you looking for as an outcome?

To gain another friend and an ally in the art space.

What made Pure/Lesley stand out from others on offer?

Meeting Lesley was one of those “everything happens for a reason” situation I haven’t actually sort mentorship from anyone in the art world before or after.

What is most appealing about working with Pure/Lesley?

She gets me.

What is the biggest transformation you have experienced?

Learning to hold compassion for the haters. Haters gonna hate so I’ll just love em ;)

How have you implemented the learning you have made?

By helping others in the same way through offering my time and mentorship to those on my journey that may need it.

What was your initial reaction when you started?

“Oh isn’t this a lovely smiley looking lady” :)

How has working with Pure/Lesley helped you during the learning journey?

I’ve learned how to hold fast to valuing my work. Especially when she took me to an exhibition and showed me the prices of some of the art. She made me believe I am worth it and not an imposter. Since I have sold work for a pretty penny.

Has this solution saved you time and helped you grow and progress faster?

100%

Can you share any tangible outcomes?

I sold a painting at midnight of New Years Eve for $1000 after holding fast to my value.

What have you been most impressed with?

Her consistency. I know she is always there to message and ask for pearls when I need them.

How do you feel now about your career and future potential?

Very excited and very optimistic. Full to the brim with faith in myself to achieve great things.

What plans do you have now for the future that are new?

Right now I want to take my charity Youth Art Connect into the future. I want to get enough funding to pay the directors. I want to spread as much joy as I can doing what I love and change the world where ever I go.

This and I want to break America in the autumn and by the end of the year I WILL sell a painting for over 10 thousand pounds!
