We invited artists to submit work inspired by the shifting seasons of Autumn and Winter.
From golden leaves to frosted mornings, long shadows to festive light, this exhibition will celebrate the beauty, mood, and atmosphere of the colder months…
Kirsti Matthews
Her surface is textured like stone carved by time, bearing marks as though they are words in a forgotten tongue. Mneme is the vessel of knowledge — not the knowledge of books or monuments, but of cycles, seasons, and secrets too deep for language. She whispers: “I remember what was lost before remembering began. I am the keeper of echoes, the unspoken song of the ancients. Listen, and you will hear the truth beneath silence.”
Mneme is the guardian of wisdom: memory preserved not in text, but in being.
Stoneware with porcelain slip, glazes and oxides. Signed, Unique, Artwork size 24cm x 15cm x 15cm
Her form appears whole and graceful, yet her edges blur, as though she exists half in this world and half in another. Nyssa is the keeper of mystery — the unseen, the unmeasured, the unspoken. Her presence suggests both revelation and concealment, for she reminds us that not all truths are meant to be known at once.
She whispers: “I am the veil between the seen and unseen. To behold me is to stand at the edge of wonder. What is hidden is not lost — it waits.” Nyssa is mystery embodied: a threshold to what lies beyond understanding.

Echoes of the First Mothers
Before the world was bound by time, there walked women of power — the First Mothers. They bore no crowns, yet they carried strength greater than kings. They wrote no books, yet their knowledge shaped the turning of the stars. They spoke no laws, yet their mysteries guided the flow of rivers, the growth of forests, and the birth of every generation.
When the ages shifted and their voices faded, their forms dissolved into earth and fire. What remains are fragments: torsos cracked open like ancient vessels, shoulders worn smooth by centuries, hollows where once their breath and song resided.
These figures, pulled from shadow into light, are not merely broken bodies. They are thresholds. They whisper that the ancient is not gone, but sleeping. Their scars speak of endurance, their silence of hidden wisdom, their stillness of unspoken strength.
We are the descendants of their mystery, yet also their ancestors. For when the far future unearths these forms, it is our own forgotten selves they are beholding. These are not relics of the past, but omens of the eternal — reminders that the feminine, though buried, is never lost.
1. Thaleia — The Enduring Flame
Her body is fractured, yet she does not fall. Thaleia carries the memory of fire — the strength that kindles survival through every storm. Her form is torn open, yet from the split emerges light, as if she contains within her the spark that cannot be extinguished.
She whispers: “I am the flame that endured when kingdoms turned to dust. I am resilience. You cannot break what was forged in fire.”
Thaleia is strength made flesh: a reminder that even in ruin, power remains. Stoneware with porcelain slip, glazes and oxides. Unique, Signed, Artwork size 35cm x 15cm x 15cm

This sculpture originated from an idea to do a bas-relief wall plaque, but in the style of my current flow of work. I didn’t have a visual idea though until the image of a patch of earth with spring growth came to mind, but that the earth was formed of a figure and merged with the area around. It was a sculpture that I really enjoyed sculpting as it presented a variation in my workflow, although the plaque idea was soon jettisoned in favour of a freestanding piece, still bas-relief, but the patch of land having the exposed earth on the other side.

Mint blends fresh greens and blues to spark feelings of renewal, harmony, and prosperity. Inspired by traditions from Ancient Egypt’s tomb offerings to Roman mint wreaths and Hebrew celebrations, it brings past symbolism into the present—woven with organic textures from leaves and thick, clay-rich brushstrokes.
Mixed media on canvas, organic pigments, leaves, charcoal and clay paint on canvas. Signed, Unique, Artwork size 80cm x 60cm
In this artwork, teal weaves through shades of black and white, a quiet celebration of individuality. A soothing mix of blue and green, teal holds rich symbolism—reflecting the boundless sea and sky for Tibetan monks, and representing faith and truth for Egyptians. A colour of balance, renewal, and subtle strength.
Mixed media on canvas, organic pigments, leaves, charcoal, and clay paint. Unique, Signed, Artwork size 80cm x 60cm

'All Dreams in One Place' is both a memory and a map — a layered record of a place I returned to often, in presence and in thought. It holds the echoes of familiar ground, where I once wandered and where my imagination leapt ahead to futures not yet lived. The work gathers those traces, binding recollection and longing into one expansive field of possibility.
