Exhibition: BLOOM

  • Bannatyne Hotel & Spa Battle Road Saint Leonards-on-sea, England, TN38 8EA United Kingdom (map)

Bloom — a moment in time, a season unfolding. This exhibition captures the fleeting beauty of growth as it happens, bringing together fresh perspectives and the work of artists at a pivotal point in their creative journeys. Each work reflects a sense of arrival, of ideas just breaking through and beginning to take shape.

Introducing Andrea Shearing

Since training at Edinburgh College of Art, Andrea has drawn deep inspiration from nature, particularly the landscapes of the South Downs and the East Sussex coastline where she lives. Her work explores the emotional symbolism of these environments, distilling observed reality into intuitive, meditative paintings that move between the outer world and inner experience. Embracing a slow, reflective process, each piece evolves beyond direct observation, guided by imagination and a resistance to mechanical precision. Influenced by a family background in medicine, her practice is rooted in a sense of healing, aiming to foster calm, connection, and quiet reflection. Alongside exhibiting in the UK, Europe, and the USA, Andrea has also developed work for public spaces, including polyptychs and free-standing 3D pieces, and continues to present exhibitions across the South Downs and local coastline.
