Spring Art & Wellness Day: Lino Cut Printmaking Workshop with Phillippa Egerton

  • Bannatyne Hotel & Spa Battle Road Saint Leonards-on-sea, England, TN38 8EA United Kingdom (map)

Animals Great and Small

Spend a creative day exploring the bold and expressive art of lino cut printmaking, inspired by animals great and small— from beloved pets to wildlife, insects, birds and mythical beasts.

Led by artist Phillippa Egerton, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the full lino printing process — from developing your design to carving, inking and creating your own striking prints.

The day is divided into two relaxed sessions:

Morning Session (2 hours)
Design your image and learn how to transfer it onto lino before carefully carving your printing block.

Afternoon Session (2 hours)
Ink up your block and begin printing, experimenting with colour, texture and layering to bring your design to life.

There will be a break for lunch between sessions. Lunch is not included in the ticket price.

Whether you’re completely new to printmaking or looking to build on existing skills, Phillippa will guide you step-by-step in a friendly and supportive environment.

What’s Included

Lino blocks and carving tools

Professional printing inks

Quality paper for printing

Demonstrations and individual guidance throughout the day

You’re welcome to bring a photo or drawing of an animal for inspiration.

Please note: Lino printing can be a little messy (all part of the fun!), so we recommend wearing old clothes or bringing an apron.

The day will conclude with a 30 minute Sound Bath delivered by vocal coach Sarah Stephenson.

Limited to 12 participants to allow plenty of individual support.

Come away with your own hand-printed animal designs and the confidence to continue printmaking at home.
