Sussex Art & Sculpture Trail brings 150+ artworks to the East Sussex countryside

A new outdoor art experience is coming to East Sussex this September as sculptor Jonathan Hateley opens his home, studio, barns and surrounding countryside for the inaugural Sussex Art & Sculpture Trail 2026, supported by Pure Arts Group.
Set in the beautiful rural landscape near Sedlescombe, the trail will bring together more than 150 works of contemporary sculpture and visual art, displayed both outdoors across the grounds and inside Jonathan’s working studio and traditional barns.
The exhibition features an exceptional group of established and emerging artists, including Ali Dempster, Alison Holt, Carole Bury, Ellie Drake-Lee, Liliana Dobbs, Mark Austin, Nicola Godden and many more.
Visitors can explore the sculpture trail at their own pace, discover artwork within a working artistic environment and experience the relationship between contemporary art, sculpture and the natural landscape.
The trail is open daily from 11am–5pm, 5–19 September, with two special late evenings on Saturday 5 and Saturday 12 September until 7pm. Visitors are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy the artwork and countryside into the evening.
Admission is free, with booking required for the late-night events.
