In May I joined a course - GET GROUNDED - at Emily Ball at Seawhite. We spent time in a local woodland looking at nature, collecting earth and mud from streams. We also submerged canvas and fabrics in the water and mud. Back at the studio we combined our findings with Gum Arabic and Acrylic mediums as well as powdered pigments. I glued the resulting materials to a wooden board and added a tree shape, cut from an upcyled linen blind, which I edged in stitching.
