Join us for the opening of the new RSA Fellow’s Showcase in the Dr Cross Room, featuring a presentation of works by Fran White FRSA.
In this event, Fran White FRSA and Lesley Samms FRSA will discuss Fran’s artistic practice, reflecting particularly on textiles, mindfulness, and resilience. As part of the opening, there will be a relaxed collaborative slow stitching activity, open to all levels.
This exhibition showcases the work of Royal Society of Arts Fellow Fran White. Through this display, Fran regroups her painting, stitch and mixed-media works, exploring her evolving relationship with the self, landscape and memory. This show places the image of the tree at its centre, as an emblem continuously present in Fran’s works.
There will be a Slow Stitching workshop on Tuesday 17th November, 11:30am-1:30pm to celebrate this exhibition.
Attendees will be invited to contribute to a collaborative artwork, by coming together in a mindful stitching exercise. All skill levels welcome, and material provided.
Email fran@franwhiteart.com to register.
‘Becoming Fran’ will run from 14 September – 4 January 2027.
