Demystifying Collecting
Collecting art isn’t just for the wealthy or the well-connected. People don’t simply buy objects — they invest in stories, values, and relationships. As an artist, your role isn’t to impress with jargon or gatekeep the process, but to communicate clearly and invite people in. Build trust over time, focus on genuine connection rather than quick sales, and create affordable entry points that allow new collectors to begin their journey with your work. Collecting grows when it feels human, accessible, and meaningful.
SALLY BRAMBLE
Sally Bramble is a Birmingham based artist specialising in landscapes and botanical paintings. She uses encaustic wax and hologram pigments which lend an iridescent lustre to her work and enhances the texture of the encaustic.
Encaustic is made of beeswax, damar resin and pigments, and is melted on a hotplate before it is brushed or poured onto board. It dries immediately so demands speed and spontaneity from the artist. It can be smooth as marble or built up to sculptural depths.
Sally studied Fashion Design at The London College of Fashion, specialising in illustration. Her love of retro textiles is obvious in her floral work with gorgeous colours that pop and a hint of embellishment that catches the eye of the viewer.
